Ida B. Wells. Wells was born in a small town in Mississippi. She understood that her education was a privilege to be invested for the greater good. As an investigative journalist, she highlighted the pains faced by vulnerable populations. But, she was also a devoted educator and civil rights activist, and community organizer that disrupted systemic inequality at every level. Talk about a heroine!
