Battle of the Boulevard

On January 11, 2010, Youth Encouragement Services was invited by Lipscomb University to attend the annual “Battle of the Boulevard” basketball game which featured the Belmont Bruins vs. the Lipscomb Bisons. Over one hundred kids from Y.E.S., including some board members and family members, came out to watch two thrilling basketball games in which both the Lipscomb women’s team and men’s team were victorious.
The night turned out to be a special night for the organization as a whole. Through a new program at Lipscomb University, Youth Encouragement Services was highlighted as the Game Changer for the night. Game Changers celebrates non-profit organizations in the community that are making an impact and “changing the game” through their service, support, and investment in the lives of those in need.
It was a very exciting and fun night for the kids as they participated in the Kids Zone activities. They were all given Game Changers t-shirts and some of the students even got to form a tunnel for the team to run through as they ran onto the court.
