Quandrell Claybrooks, YES College Graduate and current performer in the Atlanta Opera

We couldn’t be more proud of Quandrell Claybrooks, one our very own past YES participants.  Quandrell Claybrooks is a living testimony to the difference that Youth Encouragement Services is making in the lives of young people in our community.  He grew up in the Tony Sudekum Housing Projects and attended our Lindsley Avenue Center for years.  After graduating from high school, Quandrell received a scholarship to Morehouse College to study Music. He is currently a performer in the Atlanta Opera!  We are excited to announce that he will be returning to Nashville for a special performance.  He will be the lead performer in Portraits of Black Opera (a collection honoring the legacy of African-American opera, its influence, and its composers).  This event is sponsored by Youth Encouragement Services, Tennessee State University, and Vanderbilt University.  If you are interested in seeing this performance from a past YES participant, details are below.

February 9, 2008
